  • Do Visum offer tenant and/or guarantor credit checks and/or reference checks? Yes. We offer full tenant referencing - which is totally free to landlords - that includes credit checks, adverse history checks and employment/landlord referces which are validated by a real human being talking to the referees.
  • How will you inform me of the results of the reference? We will contact you via email with a full report once the reference is completed.
  • Can I get rent guarantee insurance if the tenants pass the reference? Yes, absolutly. When filling in the form to start the referencing process you select if you require the rent guarantee insurance.
  • How long do the reference results take to come back? References take on average around 2 working days to complete due to the extensive nature of the checks. However they can take longer if a third party who needs to provide information for the check (such as an employer, accountant or landlord) is slow to respond.
  • If I want to pay for the reference for my tenants instead of them paying, is this OK? Certainly. Just let us know when you start the reference that you will be paying and we'll invoice you.
  • My tenant has failed the reference. Should I still consider letting to them?
  • Possibly. It depends on why they've failed the reference. Please contact us to discuss the matter on a one-to-one basis.
